expand/collapse navigation introduction news history new page the team meet the team its your life/what we do. awareness sessions primary awareness. cleveland crimestoppers cleveland cs youth team fearless. the international walk for justice victim awareness-ashleigh love. the last flower upcoming events photos the committee contact us legal notice support us introduction news history new page the team meet the team its your life/what we do. awareness sessions primary awareness. cleveland crimestoppers cleveland cs youth team fearless. the international walk for justice victim awareness-ashleigh love. the last flower upcoming events photos the committee contact us legal notice support us we are a voluntary organisation who delivers awareness to youth establishments across tees side.as you will read on our awareness team pages we are professionally trained people and also victims of crime. our aims are to deliver our issues of awareness in a constructive manner to highlight the dangers in our society to our youths. the issues we deliver are also on our awareness pages we cover most issues that can have some affect on our youths in some way. to date we have reached approx 9000 youths and work consistantly on a daily basis.we work with any organisation who requests our awareness and are in full control of the programmes we deliver, we work with and are linked to our regional crime stoppers. we do regular awareness at attendence centres in middlesbrough and durham, schools, e2e, universitys, youth clubs, collages challenging and mainstream youths. we have had requests from other youth establishments in other regions.we are an independant team with a strong commitee we meet monthly to determine our programme. we are linked and work with the regional crime stoppers and do regular awareness campaigns 2 of the team are on the crime stoppers board. we also organise events to raise money for charity ron gordon (chair of its your life) is also the chair of the free from pain charity.these events and forth coming events can be seen on our events page.  the "last flower" a song written for victims of crime composed by alan pettifer. take a look at the "last flower page and watch the dvd. we are linked with the canadian "international walk for justice" hello and welcome to my web site on this page i will introduce my self and tell you a little bit about myself. i think its important to have some idea who the person is and some back ground about them when you are visiting a web page. my name is barbara dunne i lived a normal ordinary life until the 11/1/03 when a brutal horrific event struck that changed our lives forever. i lived for my family and my work, coming from a business family i helped along with my mother and father to run it. i was also a psychiatric nurse i trained in 1965 at westpark hospital near epsom in surrey. when i returned home i went back into the family business got married and had 3 children. my mother and father retired in 1987 they sold the business so i returned to nursing. during this time in-between work and home i studied and eventually took a 4 year course at durham university to train as a person centred counsellor. i graduated and went on to counsel, i was trained in contract counselling, i was also elective which means i could use other theories in the person centred frame work also i was b.a.c accredited. i loved what i did basically with my nurse training and counselling training they were a life time of training and experience which i did at an early age to have a professional impact in my job. when i thnk of all the issues i have dealt with self harm,eating disorders, depression, abuse, trauma, drugs,alcohol, working with children. i had no idea what was going to happen and the shock/feelings/emotions/horror i was going to experience. to be continued: print | sitemap recommend this page © mothers against knives/its your life awareness team. login logout | edit page
